Land Trust Alliance

The Platte Land Trust is a member of the national organization Land Trust Alliance (LTA) whose purpose is to “support land trusts so they can save and secure more lands now and for future generations.” In 2006, LTA formed an independent accreditation program “to build and recognize strong land trusts, foster public confidence in land conservation and help ensure the long-term protection of land.”

Platte Land Trust’s Strategic Plan 2025 includes LTA accreditation. We achieved this goal and mark of distinction in February 2023 demonstrating sound finances, ethical land and business practices, responsible governance, and lasting stewardship of all land projects.

Missouri Land Trust Coalition

The Missouri Land Trust Coalition is an association of land trusts and their conservation partners dedicated to the protection and restoration of Missouri’s key natural resource and community landscapes across the state.

We partner with landowners – farmers, ranchers, and nature enthusiasts – to protect the resources of their land. We strengthen Missouri conservation by building connections and advancing policies that help protect our natural world—our forests, water, wildlife, open space, and family farms —for all people, forever.

From parks to forests, prairies to farms, rivers and streams to trails, MLTC members collaborate to ensure that open space, farm and ranch lands and recreation areas remain a major part of Missouri living, tourism and economy.
