Strong Commitment to Conservation Excellence and Public Trust

Platte Land Trust has been awarded national accreditation by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission

Platte Land Trust has been awarded national accreditation by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission. A win for conservation and our community!

PLT joins a network of over 450 accredited land trusts across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to professional excellence and to maintaining the public’s trust in their work. Each accredited land trust completes a rigorous review process, documenting fiscal accountability, strong organizational foundation, sound land transactions, and lasting stewardship of the lands they conserve.

What are some of the benefits of national accreditation?

· We are a stronger organization for going through the rigorous accreditation program.

· Increased trust from landowners and the public, resulting in more land protected.

· PLT is eligible for grant funding from conservation agencies, such as MO Department of Conservation and US Fish & Wildlife, to protect more land needed by wildlife.

PLT’s hope and dream is that national accreditation builds trust and confidence with landowners. It inspires more people to protect the land – more open spaces, habitat, family farms, and natural resources protected in our region for current and future generations. Wildlife will have space to roam. Drinking water supplies are protected. Family farms are handed to the next generation. The climate crisis has abated. Communities are livable and sustainable.
